National Orange Ribbon Celebrations
The annual National Orange Ribbon Celebrations mark ethnic and cultural diversity and harmony in Singapore. The colour orange, universally recognised as a warm and positive colour, was chosen for its connotations of understanding, warmth, family love and spiritual commitment. This year’s event, held in support of the Singapore Youth Olympic Games (SYOG), aims to bring about cultural diversity through sports, encourage youths to actively participate in community outreach programmes and raise awareness on the games and participating athletes. Guest-of-Honour will be our Minister Mentor, Mr. Lee Kuan Yew.
In our efforts to enhance the presence of Eurasians in this multi-racial society, the Eurasian Association will once again participate in the National Orange Ribbon Celebrations 2009. A performance by the Performing Arts Chapter and the famous famous “sugee cake” and other Eurasian delights will be featured.
Members, do your part and be proud to represent your Eurasian Community at this carnival; you’ll be guaranteed a fun-filled day for the whole family! Don’t forget to come dressed in Orange!
