Art Workshop

Date: 17 December 2017
Venue: Eurasian Community House

The workshop was attended by students from Primary to Tertiary level. The participants could choose to focus on ships or the Christmas festival and were quick to grasp the sketching and painting techniques. Trainer Ruby Elvina Wyse taught the students to use acrylic paint to create their artwork on a framed canvas.

Drone Workshop

Date: 5 December 2017
Venue: Eurasian Community House

The Eurasian Association conducted its inaugural Drone Workshop, which was attended by students from Primary to Tertiary level. They were excited to learn the basics of flight, aerodynamics and were also trained to program the flight and pattern of the drones with a programming tool on a tablet.

Project Ray of Hope Ceremony

The Project Ray of Hope ceremony provides Popular and Bata vouchers funded by the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth to assist underprivileged students to defray their education costs and equip themselves for the academic year 2018.

Eurasian Community Fund (ECF) Education Awards Ceremony

Date: 16 September 2017
Venue: ITE College Central

The EA’s annual key education event – presented 360 Eurasian students with awards in recognition of their academic success. It dispensed Merit, Excellence and Distinction awards to students who had achieved outstanding academic results at their level of education plus Bursary awards to help defray the cost of education for students from lower-income families. Mr Ong Ye Kung, Minister for Education (Higher Education and Skills) graced the event as the guest of honour. Two new awards that were named after their donors: the Herbert Schoon Progress Award and Mads A. Lange and Pansy Theseira-Lange Education Bursary Award and were presented to deserving students.

Joint Tuition Awards (JTA) Ceremony

Venue: Nanyang Polytechnic

Eight Eurasians received awards for acing their exams after studying in the Collaborative Tuition Programme (CTP) run by the self-help groups. Mr Ong Ye Kung, Minister for Education (Higher Education and Skills) graced the event as the guest of honour.

Mathematics Intensive Programme

Date: 5 to 16 June 2017
Venue: Eurasian Community House

The Math Intensive Programme is a speedy revision programme that covers PSLE and ‘O’ levels exams’ maths concepts and formulas. PSLE tutor Christopher Rozario and ‘O’ level tutor Gerald Lee Zhaohong assisted the students with the revision.
